The Carpenters pencil produces a clear, visible line on timber and some metals. Generally available in three grades:- COLOUR GRADE USE Green Hard For harder areas, brick work and plastered walls Red Medium For general carpentry Blue Soft For softwoods and newly felled timber

The Marking Gauge is used to produce layout lines either with or across the grain parallel to the workpiece.
These dual-purpose gauges are used for setting out Mortices and for marking out. The second pin is used for mortice work and can be accurately set by means of either the pullslide or the screwslide.
Used to mark out timber prior to cutting. The handle is usually made of Hardwood with a angled steel blade. The cutting edge is ground on one side only to enable the blade to run against any flat surface.
For determining existing angles or transferring angles onto a workpiece. The stock is usually made of Rosewood and fitted with brass end caps. The Blade is locked in position by a brass wing nut.
A versatile measuring Instrument, to work as a steel rule, Mitre square, Try square and Level. The Square head can travel the entire length of the blade and can be locked in position by tightening a knurled nut.
Used to mark a right angle to an edge. Can also be used to check the square of a Internal or external angle. Certain squares have a 45 degree angle cut in the stock for marking or checking 45 degree angles. Can also be used as a depth gauge.
