Zyklop Sockets & Socket Sets
Open Jaw at one end and closed at the other (Ring). Both ends being of the same size. The greater strength of the Ring is used to loosen the nut, which can be quickly removed with the faster open jaw.
Like most Spanners Open-ended are often Double-ended. The ends are usually of consecutive sizes. Main advantage is that it can be used where there is an obstruction directly above the Nut, or on Pipe Unions, where the Pipe would restrict the use of a Ring Spanner.
The completely enclosed head of a Ring Spanner is potentially stronger than any Open-ended Spanner. The length of the Spanner varies in proportion to the size of the nut used on. This limits the amount of torque applied to smaller nuts.
Double-ended, Ratchet Mechanism Wrenches provide a simple solution when space is limited. Movement is reversed simply by turning the wrench over. The bihexagon ring form is broached to ensure a perfect non-slip fit. Offset pattern are angled at 25 degrees to give additional clearance. Direction is changed by depressing a reversing lever.
Designed for dealing with Union Nuts on Wiring or Pipes. The gap in the head allows access where the use of a standard Ring Wrench is not possible. Heads are set at an angle of 15 degrees and each end is a different size.
