Jigsaws
Jigsaws
Jigsaws, with the right blade attached , are capable of a variety of jobs in a wide range of materials from ripping and cross cutting in both solid timbers , man made materials and thin metals, to intricate curves and internal shaped work.
Jigsaws with an Orbital or pendulum action speed up cutting by moving the blade in a slightly circular motion, when using a normal jigsaw blade it cuts on the upward movement by moving the blade forward and then back on the downward movement, this increased cutting speed will give you a coarser finish. When precision cutting, plunge cutting or cutting metal is required the orbital action should be turned off. When making a straight cut it is ideal to use a slower cutting speed and a wider blade to prevent the blade from bending or pulling the saw off course.

Angle Grinders - 115mm Disc
Angle Grinders - 115mm Disc
Mini Angle Grinders are designed for use in tight work areas and with the right cutting or grinding disc, wire brush or sanding disc they are ideal for those medium duty sanding and grinding projects. They are used to cut metal, brick and concrete and are extensively used in construction industry and for cutting grinding applications at home.
There are many different attachments that can be used for various materials and tasks, such as cut-off disks, Diamond Blades, abrasive grinding disks, sanding disks, wire-brush wheels and polishing pads.
Extreme care should be taken to ensure correct discs are fitted. Flat discs for cutting off and depressed centre discs for both cutting and grinding. Butting are usually 3.2 in thickness and grinding usually 5.0 or 6.5mm thick. Always double check if disc is suitable for stone or metal. The wearing of goggles is recommended. DONT use depressed centre "cutting wheels" as grinding wheels.

Orbital Sanders 1/4 Sheet
Orbital Sanders 1/4 Sheet
Orbital sanders are often referred to as finishing sanders and they operate with a circular motion to create a smooth finish when used correctly, they work best when only slight pressure is used.
They are available in three different sizes, 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2 sheet.
1/4 sheet machines are also know as Palm Sanders and are ideal for one handed use and for using in confined areas.
1/3 sheet machines are ideal for most sanding jobs around the home and are easy to handle.
1/2 sheet machines are aimed at trade applications where the larger pad size measn quicker work.

Reciprocating - Sabre Saws
Reciprocating - Sabre Saws
Reciprocating saws (also know as Sabre Saws) operate on a similar principle to jigsaws but with the blade protruding from the front of the machine. They are intended for freehand use and a range of blades are available to suit different materials and cutting applications. Most saws have moveable front shoes which help to prolong the life of the blade by evening the wear when cutting thin material. With the correct blade theres virtually no building material it cant cut. it is an ideal tool to have for construction , workshop or for jobs around the home and garden.

Circular Saws
Circular Saws
Circular saws are ideal for making rapid and accurate long cuts (with the addition of a guide accurate cuts are easily achieved) or cutting large volumes of timber, MDF, Plywood and other man made materials and in some cases with the correct blade, thin metals.

Batteries & Chargers for Cordless Tools
Batteries & Chargers for Cordless Tools
Replacement batteries for Cordless Power Tools.
These batteries cover the full range of voltages and, although the higher voltage batteries produce more wattage and are more powerful, the greatest difference is in the longer performance between re-charges. Also the greater the Ah rating a battery has the longer it will perform a given task before becoming discharged.

Circular & Trim Saws - Cordless
Circular & Trim Saws - Cordless
Circular saws are ideal for making long cuts (with the addition of a guide accurate cuts are easily achieved) or cutting large volumes of timber, MDF, Plywood and other man made materials and in some cases thin metals. A safer alternative to corded circular saws these cordless saws have the advantage of being instantly useable and in some cases are light enough to use one handed.

Electric Planers
Electric Planers
Powered planers are the powered version of the classic woodworking hand plane; they are capable of removing large amounts of material with the minimum of effort and in most cases will give a good clean finish. Whilst they cannot match hand planes for finish they are able to plane man made boards such as MDF and Chipboard. Typically, these tools can remove 1.5mm of material with each pass although some can go deeper.

Routers
Routers
Router are flexiable and versatile machines for use in either in the workshop or out on site, fixed to a router table or used freehand. The plunge router allow the motor and router bit to plunge up and down on spring loaded legs, combined with the right router bit (a wide range of router bits are available) their versatility includes uses in : joint construction, cutting groves, making mortise and tenons, dovetail and lap joints, fitting locks and hinges, making staircases, joining worktops and many different decorative and edge moulding uses.
The two main sizes collets sizes are; 1/4in which is suitable for lightweight and medium-duty applications or 1/2in which suitable for medium-duty and heavy-duty applications. The 1/2in collet machines generally can use collet reduction adaptors to allow 1/4in, 6mm and 8mm shank router bits to be used.

Belt Sanders
Belt Sanders
Belt sanders are versatile machines capable of dealing with the roughest of surfaces and are mainly used for the rapid removal of flat stock and on large areas. They are ideal for stripping wood, floorboards, other preparation work and cleaning up glued panels. Unlike any other sander the belt sander cuts in one direction only which means it can be used parallel to the grain of the work piece minimising any cross grain damage. Variable speed makes a belt sander more versatile and less likely to damage delicate surfaces, sanding at a lower speed removes less material and creates less heat so finished such as paint and varnish are less likely to meal and fuse with the belt as they are being removed.
|
Random Orbital Sanders
Random Orbital Sanders
Random orbital sanders combine the benefits of orbital and belt sanders and can produce fine finishes, even on contoured surfaces, and are versatile enough to tackle paint and rust removal, and polishing, with the right accessories. It can work along and across the grain making it an ideal finishing sander.

SDS Plus Hammers
SDS Plus Hammers
SDS drills are hammer drills which have an enhanced hammer action over a normal hammer drill, they are able to deliver far greater energy per hammer blow, which when drilling hard masonry or concrete take conciderible less time than normal hammer drills. On some machines as well as the rotary and hammer action they can be used with the rotation switched off (Rotation Stop) to give just a hammer action for chiselling etc which is ideal for chasing cable runs or socket cut outs in walls, removing tiles, and light demolition work.
They also have a different chuck design and use specialist SDS drill bits to withstand the force of the hammer action and also to eliminate the possibility of drill bit slipping. To unlock and change SDS bits, users simply pull back the spring-loaded chuck sleeve.
These machines can operate in either Two or Three Modes. Two Mode machines have rotary drill and hammer action, three mode machines has both these plus Rotation Stop.
